Mr. Clenney is a shareholder in the firm. He holds a J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University Graduate School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Alabama and Texas.
Mr. Clenney has extensive experience and expertise in commercial transactions. He regularly represents commercial developers in negotiating and preparing commercial loan documents. In addition, he has represented developers in the development and financing of residential and commercial developments and in multi-family low-income housing projects. He is an approved title insurance agent for First American Title Insurance Company and Old Republic/Mississippi Valley Title Insurance Company.
Mr. Clenney provides advice and counsel to individual and corporate clients, including tax planning for individuals, corporations and other business entities. Mr. Clenney also advises individuals in estate planning matters, including drafting of wills and trusts, probating wills, administering decedents’ estates and asset protection and preservation. He has represented clients in state and federal tax controversies in administrative and judicial forums, including the United States Tax Court and Federal and Alabama courts.
Mr. Clenney is also experienced in forming and representing corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships. He has experience in securities law and has represented commercial banks in the sale of stock, in reorganization and in other types of securities transactions.
